Here are some highlights from 2013
Some of my favorites from 2012. It was a fun year. The Plaq mounts were a HIT and proved to be a very popular and affordable upgrade that everybody loved. I can’t wait to see what is in store for 2013.
Here’s a sign that we used to present the car for sale at auction. A nice simplified approach to get critical information presented about a rare and desirable car.

I’m looking to build a network of photographers in major cities who I can refer clients to who need professional quality photographs done to my specifications for use in creating their Custom Show Boards. The subjects would only be Automobiles (or motorcycles, airplanes, etc..). I have an immediate need for such a photographer in the CHICAGO area, but am building a nation wide network as well. The All Ford show was a hit! Beautiful weather, great venue, and awesome cars. I’ve finished a few of the orders I took already and wanted to share them with you. The new Plaq mounts were a total hit, and everybody opted to go with it as an upgrade since I’ve shown them in person. Below is a nice Thunderbird done in the “Sport” style, an early Mustang GT again in the “Sport” style, and a late model Mustang GT done in the “Fully Loaded” style. The early Thunderbird and Mustang were photographed right at the show, but the 2009 Mustang was photographed at a different location via appointment.
Many customers ask me how to display their Custom Show Board at a car show. I have field tested many so-called easels, sign stands, instrument stands, you name it! The most common failure in the show field is that the wind knocks a certain sign over, which is NOT GOOD. Common sense should prevail most of the time – if it’s super windy, please put your sign away to minimize the risk damaging it and the automobiles around you. A Custom Show Board is heavier than the competition, so it should naturally be less prone to problems in the wind. Still, you need to properly display it in an easel, and I have a terrific solution. My easel is fully portable, and very strong and durable. It is black and is sized appropriately for your Custom Show Board. Unlike most, this easel has a clamp that secures the top of the sign to the base. If a sign falls, it is usually from the wind catching it on the back – keeping your sign properly facing INTO the wind and clamped down securely to the easel will avoid this problem and will keep your Custom Show Board investment looking new. I proudly offer this easel well below MSRP for only $70 and it’s worth every penny.

You may have heard about the awesome new Plaq mount offerings, and now there is even more exciting news. For just $35 more than the standard Plaq mount (which is anything but standard!), you can upgrade even more up to the Super-Plaq! What’s the difference, you ask? Well, you get the same high quality HDF wood mounting, but you now get a special METALLIC print, and a special SATIN coated laminate that really makes this Custom Show Board POP! In addition to that, your Super-Plaq is also foil coated on the REAR of the sign for a complete professional appearance (several colors and styles other than black available by request). Keyhole slots can be eliminated by request for a smoother finished portable display if you desire. Jen remembers this car from when she was barely old enough to walk and talk, as it was her dad’s car. I had a lot of fun with this project – check out Jen’s dad looking down from the clouds.
Wow, what an experience it must have been back in the day to use this car to learn how to be a race car driver. This is simply an amazing car and wonderful rare piece of history.
I often advise my clients to use as little amount of text as possible on their Custom Show Boards. However, sometimes it is necessary to use LOTS of text. In this case, the client was selling his car at auction and wanted to document the car well for the sign. Here, I combined the Super Sport general layout with the Fully Loaded to turn it into a 20×30 sign.
